Precept
ROLE: Print & Digital Designer
Precept is a nonprofit that has been providing Bible study materials & Bible study leader training for over 50 years. From 2018-2023 I oversaw the design & production of all marketing & event print materials. In 2020, Precept rebranded, & I helped consult with the branding agency. Once we received the base materials (a logo, symbol, color pallet, fonts, & a general brand direction), I fleshed the brand out to include a complex & varied system that could do everything from simple product design to content-heavy proposals. I directed & styled product photoshoots, & I worked with my team to develop fundraising & advertising campaigns.

Precept occasionally offers premiums, which are gifts sent to donors for a donation of any amount. For these promotions, I researched gift options, coordinated with printers, developed designs, quality checked the inventory, & helped with photoshoots & styling, all while keeping the project on time to meet mailing deadlines.
Precept materials, whether a direct mail piece, a study, a training material, or a Case for Support, often have one thing in common: They are copy heavy. In my role, I learned how to create layouts that communicate large amounts of information without being visually overwhelming. I also researched design options to keep every project fresh while always staying true to the brand.
President's Weekend is an event that happens once a year when Precept invites their high-end donors to hear about exciting next steps for the ministry. For this invitation package, I helped develop the tagline & concept, & I worked hard to bring this unique trifold piece into the world.
I had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of project at Precept, including general marketing materials like postcards, bubble mailers, & books.
